Origin of Geelbeksdam Damaras
Since Geelbeksdam is mountainous and predators are
abundant, Christine started research on hardy indigenous breeds. As a result of
this research, she decided to start a Damara stud, and in 1992 became a founder

She used the Himba ram (147R1), as well as a stud ram, 97.91.34 , which she bought from Mr Roe Wiid at the National auction in Pretoria in 1992.
