Christine, along with other prominent Damara breeders, recently embarked on a breeding programme to develop a new meat sheep breed, the Meatmaster , under the auspices of the Damara sheep breeders’ Association. |

| The Meatmaster is a cross between White Dorper rams and Damara ewes, and is bred for optimal meat production and survival characteristics. |

Promising results were achieved in both the breeding programme on the farm and at the market place. Great interest already excists for this new South African sheep breed, ideally suited for tough extensive conditions. |
